Spirit League offers year-round youth and adult sports programming for athletes with developmental disabilities. Our Adult Program includes basketball, volleyball, and bowling for athletes ages 18-30 years.
Our adult basketball season is different than our youth season. Instead of being assigned a specific team, we teach a pick-up game style where athletes can play with different teammates each week. This approach has led to our athletes making new friends while strengthening basketball fundamentals.
Our basketball curriculum focuses on the three fundamental skills of dribbling, shooting and passing. The first part of each session will focus on teaching these fundamental skills and working with other team athletes. As the season progresses, these skills will be expanded to include variations of each including different forms of passing, guarding and shooting techniques. Athletes will form teams to play a fun but non-competitive game each week.
Games will be played on Saturdays, April 22 – June 24 from 9:00 – 10:30 am. Registration for the 2023 season was online from February 1 – 28, 2023.
Spirit League will provide a personalized jersey for each athlete. Parents should provide black athletic shorts, tall black athletic socks, and tennis shoes or high tops.
The $245 registration fee includes a personalized jersey, individual and team photos, season medal, use of court equipment, court rental, insurance, and instruction by staff.

Volleyball is a social game and requires communication with teammates. During this adult program volleyball clinic, athletes will learn the fundamentals of the game including proper hitting technique, serving and how to volley.
The sand courts at the Felipe Tennis and Recreation Center allow for an intimate learning experience with parents stationed at shaded tables nearby.
The Clinic will be held on Thursdays, July 6 – August 17 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
2023 online registration will be from May 15 – June 30 at Spiritleague.org.
Athletes should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for sports and warm weather. Since the court is sand, some athletes prefer to wear sand socks instead of going barefoot.
The $150 registration fee includes court equipment, court rental and staff instruction

Bowling…sounds simple right? Bowling takes not only physical skill but social skill. We plan to work on the game from both angles during our Adult Bowling Clinic.
Open to athletes ages 18 – 30 years, the Clinic will focus on the fundamentals of bowling including ball selection, form, and scoring. From the life-skill perspective, athletes will learn how to get the appropriate shoe wear, the importance of being on time (if you are late, you can’t join a game in progress), and how to participate in a recreational sport in a social environment (taking turns, encouragement, appropriate teasing, etc.
The 2024 Clinic will be played on Wednesdays, January 10 – February 21 (no session February 14) from 6:30 – 8:00. 2024 online registration will be from November 15 – December 30.
Bowlers should wear appropriate clothing for bowling and bring socks each week
The $150 registration fee includes shoe rental, 90 minutes of bowling, and instruction by staff
